Colonia del Sacramento is a small city in southwestern Uruguay facing Buenos Aires.
Just like Montevideo, Colonia del Sacramento is along the river "Río de la Plata" which is the widest river in the world with a maximum width of about 220 kilometers.
I really enjoyed this place. It's very quiet and good to relax.
I just walked in the beautiful streets of the historic quarter which is part of Unesco World Heritage.
My accommodation was nice too ("Che Lagarto Hostel Colonia").
One evening the owners invited me to eat with them "Asado" which is a traditional South America BBQ with different kind of meat and grilled vegetables (onions, peppers, ...). Yummy!
